Large Magellanic Cloud

In the first and the second picture we can see the glittering ball of stars, more precisely a globular cluster lying toward the center of the Large Magellanic Cloud -one of our closest cosmic neighbors. Photos taken by the Hubble Space Telescope.
It is an ideal laboratory for investigating star formation. Globular clusters are one of the oldest known objects in the universe.
Large Magellanic Cloud has been discovered in November 1834 by British astronomer John Herschel.
